The OEM spring is incredibly soft, so we discovered the need for a significantly higher spring rate in this application. The Speed Factory Racing Upgraded D-Series Shifter spring is more than 600% stronger than the OEM spring, giving your shifter a firm, positive feel and returning the shifter to the center position with authority. Rowing through the ratios more quickly and accurately will assist all D-Series transmissions to shift better, notably the 2-3 shift. It also reduces the irritation caused by frequent 2-3-2 and feared 1-2-1 transmission miss-shifts. Simply move the shifter ahead, and it will transition into third gear on its own.
